Twice the amount of water to one amount of lentils
1 cupped hand full of red lentils per person. Recipe 4 portions.
1/2 onion finely chopped lengthways
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of oil bring to heat, add onion and fry till just before burning
Add garlic keep stirring, for about a minute, remove from heat and leave to rest
Chop a hand full of fresh coriander
Just before serving add the coriander, onion and garlic to the dhall, Job done
Optional 4 red tine chilli’s
If the dhall is to thick add water
Consistency down to personal preference, but the TandooriQ team like it fairly runny
